HSRCA Summer Festival One Raceway September 26-27-2026

A compact but dedicated group of Historic Group N Historic Touring Cars attended One Raceway Goulburn for the HSRCA Spring Festival. The well-traveled Rob James was down from Queensland Capri#11and making his way up the Hume Hwy from Victoria was Mark Johnson Mustang#97. NSW entries seen Brad Forgeard with the EH Holden#76 out of the shed and looking superb, Michael Rose was on track driving this time in the Simca#52 a big change from his usual mustang mount, Loris Mariotto was having a red hot go in the bullet proof Volvo#22, Dave Buckley was in the Cortina#36 gaining more valuable track time, and the super quick minis of Paul Battersby#271 being overseen by team manager John Battersby (always nice to see JB at the track) Nathan Stevenson#103 and Chris Dubois Escort#39. Qualifying in warm sunny conditions on the Saturday morning and Stevensons mini had a gear stick issue doing minimal laps and Brad Forgeard had a minor problem with the EH but due to not having a correct spare part was unable to continue past qualifying. Rob James was on pole with a 1.12.6 from Johnson, Paul Battersby, Stevenson, Forgeard (who managed a time) Chris Dubis, Loris Mariotto, Dave Buckley, and Michael Rose. Race one over six laps seen great racing mostly in pairs Johnson took a close win from a hard charging James Battersby and Stevenson were next from Dubois, Mariotto, Buckley, and Rose. Race two Saturday after in hot windy conditions again six laps and well done the Queenslander Rob James first to see the checker from Johnson, Battersby, Stevenson, Dubois, Mariotto, Buckley and Rose. Sundays race three and what a difference 24 hours makes cold and damp conditions with a handicap start over 8 laps. Good job Nathan Stevenson first from Battersby, Dubois, Mariotto, James, Johnson, Buckley, and Rose. Last race from Group N six laps James again from Johnson, Battersby, Dubois, Mariotto, Stevenson with a DNF and Rose with a DNS. Just a shout out to Geoff Pike#22 and David Stone#98 racing at Goulburn in Group S plus Tom Tweedie Formula Ford #3 who are all Group N competitors at the Goulburn Event Next meeting for the Historic Group N Touring cars in NSW will be the HSRCA Summer Festival SMP Eastern Creek November 28-29th
