Plans are in place for a driver training day at Pheasant Wood Circuit in Marulan on Sunday the 13th of February, 2022. If you’d like to attend, please download the following form and return it to jennifer@jtm.sydney by the 30th of November, 2021.

2022 Driver Training Day Expression of Interest Form [DOC]

Once again, your HGNA Committee has obtained a NSW State Government Grant to fund a training day. This grant provides track hire and some facilities for the day with participants paying only a modest fee of $50 to cover Marulan Day License and HGNA admin costs.

The next Historic Group N Association NSW Driver Training Day will be held on Sunday 13th February 2022 and your committee is seeking participation from club members. Just ask any of those members associated with our training day in January 2021 and you’ll realize what a fantastic time was had by all.

The intention of the day is to encourage the participation of enthusiastic persons both male and female, who may wish to enter the sport of motor racing. It may either be an interest in historic racing or any other four wheel class of participation within circuit racing. Minimum requirement is over 14 years of age with reasonable experience of driving a motor vehicle.

The persons we seek as participants will either be club members family or a close relative of the club member. Members will be responsible for their guests on the day. The numbers on the day would be a maximum of 30 trainees, with a maximum number of vehicles on the track at any one time of 10 cars. This will then require at least 10 competition-licensed members to act as driver instructors.

Instructors will have responsibility to communicate with the control tower and the grid / flag marshals. There will be a requirement for assistance from at least four flag marshals and two grid marshals.

Race cars will only be used later in the day when the training participants have done observed laps in their own/ family cars and are observed to be conversant with the track, the rules and conditions.

There will be restrictions placed on the speed of the cars so as not to encourage the drivers to get over excited and cause any problems with the car they are driving or other cars sharing the track.

Marulan circuit staff will have the track setup with braking and turn-in marker cones for our use during the day. A supervised track walk is compulsory for all drivers at the start of the day.

This expression of interest is for instructors, flag marshals and members with their own race cars [to be driven under instructions from the member].

Your support for this fun day is requested, to provide an excellent backdrop for our club to encourage more active members in our club or our chosen sport.
