Motorsport Moment: Too Much Curb

One of our Mini drivers had an exciting run up the hill at Wakefield Park at the HSRCA’s recent Autumn Festival, grabbing too much curb during turn two.

The competitive mid-field pack was led by Mini driver Graham Russell, followed by Paul Tierney in the Torana and then Chris Collett just outrunning the Alfa Romeo Giulia of Graham Gulson. Chris grabbed too much curb into turn two, which flicked his Mini up onto barely two wheels. Luckily, the Tierney Torana was there to lend a shoulder to lean on, bringing the Mini back to earth safely.

The incident was resolved amicably as a racing incident, and both drivers were in good health and spirits following. Miraculously little damage resulted to either car, with Chris able to finish the race and both drivers back for the next one.
